ABOUT US

After racing dirt late models for nearly 30 years, we realized replacing sheet metal every few races is not only expensive but time consuming. Even if only straightening sheet metal, it is time that we often didn't have. We knew there had to be another solution. The first to come to mind was plastic. However, we quickly decided against this option without even trying it due to the "oil can effect" it has in the heat of the summer and the poor decal adhesion of plastic. We started with identifying what properties we wanted in a body panel:

1. Needs to be as maintenance free as possible
2. Must be dent and crease resistant
3. Could not be heavier than aluminum
4. Must be affordable

After reviewing our needs we concluded a composite material would fulfill our needs. Our composite is comparable to that of carbon fiber, without the shattering characteristics of carbon fiber. It doesn't withstand the high heat that carbon fiber does, but is more heat resistant than plastic. Our material will hold its form when up against heat, and is so memorable that it can be nearly folded in half and will still retain its original form. Our mission is to save racers time and money at every level.

HOW WE STARTED

STAKT Products started in late summer of 2021. Our manufacturing started with short runs producing "one off parts" with limited manufacturing capacity. Our panels endured a lengthy test phase on numerous cars, including our very own, before we solidified our product choices. Building our own thermoforming machine allows us to product different panels for each class and chassis type. We started with right sides and front filler panels only. Shortly after going live with our products, STAKT made it to dirt late models’ biggest stage, with Jonathan Davenport winning the 50th World 100! In early 2022 we were quick to expand our product line to left sides, and most recently hoods. We are proud to say our products went first, second, and third at the Eldora Million in June 2022. We continue to rapidly expand our business to further suit racers of all levels.

WHAT'S IT MADE OF?

This is one of our most common questions! All of our products are made of a composite material. This is not plastic, nor metal but a material that has been specifically engineered for just our products! Our owner, an engineer himself, worked diligently to find just the right recipe which will fit all of your needs as a racer. STAKT composite is lightweight, dent resistant and heat resistant. Our panels are thermoformed to a very controlled, but specific temperature before being bent. Because of our fibers being so memorable, these cannot be bent in a sheet metal brake.
